Trauma therapy

Trauma often plays a role in overload, chronic stress and burnout . It has now been scientifically proven that remembering an emotional event from the past ensures that you actually re-experience the inner sensations that you felt during the original event. Trauma turns off your inner compass and robs you of the imagination that you need to create something better. For example, you develop a fear of fear. Being afraid means living in a body that is always on guard and alert.

We work according to the methods of Prof. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and P. Levine with Somatic Experiencing . Flight, fight or freeze, these are the choices that prey animals have when they are confronted with direct mortal danger. This also applies to people in a traumatic situation. But unlike prey animals, who quickly shake off the physical tension of a life-threatening moment, we humans do not always succeed. Tension often gets stuck in the body. This can manifest itself in insomnia, feelings of anxiety, concentration problems or outbursts of anger .

Using body-oriented exercises, our specialized coaches help you to release blocked survival energy and reconnect with yourself.

The coach helps you to put a (often complicated) feeling into words and ensures the recognition of that feeling. Listening, understanding, feeling and processing, letting the body finish what has stopped, that is our speciality.

After the therapy you feel freer and lose less energy. You can truly experience the day as it is: as very precious.

“In order to heal, the mind, body and brain must be convinced that it is safe to let go. This only happens when you feel safe on a deep inner level and allow yourself to connect that sense of safety with the memories of the experiences and feelings in the past.”

~ Prof. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk
