Collective Dismissal Guidance
DISMISSAL IS NEVER PLEASANT, BUT THE APPROACH MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
Laying off employees is a major and often emotional event. However, the way in which this process is designed makes the difference, both for departing and remaining employees.
Human & Career Coaches supports organizations in the smooth running of reorganizations, from the moment of decision-making to the completion of the phase-out process.
The period after the decision to lay off employees has the following phases:
1. Social Plan
We have extensive experience with reorganisations and collective dismissals. We share our insights when drawing up the Social Plan, so that the intended goals, such as acceptance of the measures, guidance from work to work and a controlled outflow, are achieved. Unfortunately, we often see that well-intentioned arrangements in a Social Plan have a counterproductive effect. We help to prevent this.
2. Announcement
Prior to the announcement of redundancy, we can train management in guiding employees through change. During this training, managers gain insight into the different phases of change and learn how to deal with them. It also discusses what to do and not to do in these phases and how to recognize and handle resistance. If desired, this can be practiced in conversation, possibly with a training actor.
3. Announcements
Human & Career Coaches provides training for conducting notification interviews. In this we pay attention to:
- Change processes and grieving
- Professional behavior and mutual relationships (for example: how do you get the message across if you have to leave yourself, or if you are allowed to stay?)
- The setup of the conversation
- Conversation techniques, both verbal and non-verbal
4. Outplacement
Human & Career Coaches offers high-quality, individually tailored outplacement guidance. This contributes to:
- The acceptance of the reorganization by departing employees
- Maintaining a good reputation as an employer, both with departing and remaining employees
- A maximum placement result
